YMCA

YMCA Malta was founded in 1976.it is a Non-Government Organization, non-profit, voluntary and ecumenical movement seeking to promote the vision to build a more just society.

“Seeking to promote the vision to build a more just society. Its mission includes, but is not limited to, working amongst and empowering young people and providing services to the neediest members of the community” YMCA, http://www.ymcamalta.org/

In April 2020 Happy Initiative donated € 5,000 to support homeless people during the Corona-crisis in Malta.

“With the generous donation of €5,000 given to us by Happy Initiative, YMCA will be able to provide the basic necessities such as food, toiletries etc.to homeless people living at our residential facilities ‘Dar Niki Cassar’ and ‘Y Communal House’. Our shelters cater to 48 bed nights per day spread amongst these two facilities. Not everyone has the luxury of a home where to stay safe at and we do our best to give these people a safe space and environment throughout these difficult times. Happy Initiative has helped us to make it even less worrying for these people who sometimes are not able to provide for themselves to simply buy basic food and toiletry necessities. This act of generosity was not with YMCA but with the people we have who are suffering the most during these times”
